Modern dating has changed, but are men and women still waiting for each other to make the first move?
In Part 1 of our conversation with dating coach Kit @stayslickwithkit, we explore what’s happening between men and women today, why dating has become so difficult, and what women can do differently if they want to attract the kind of man they’re actually looking for.
Kit primarily coaches women, helping them understand men, attraction, and how to create the opportunity for the right relationship to develop. One of his core ideas is women need to make the first "feminine move". As Kit puts it, masculinity pursues; femininity invites.
If you want a man to approach you, pursue you, or ask you out, you have to give him something to respond to. A look, a smile, a conversation, a signal of interest. Nobody is coming if you do nothing.
We talk about the growing disconnect between men and women, Gen Z and dating, masculine and feminine dynamics, why some men are increasingly hesitant to approach women, what attraction looks like today, and how women can make the “first feminine move” while still allowing a man to pursue.
Is modern dating really broken, or have men and women simply forgotten how to signal that they want each other?

Modern dating has never been more complicated. Men and women seem to be further apart than ever, dating apps are leaving people frustrated, and conversations about attraction, relationships, and expectations have become increasingly divided.
In this episode, we're joined by Stirling Cooper, intimacy coach, former award-winning adult film star, and former high-class male escort, for an honest conversation about what's really happening between men and women today.
After a career that gave him a unique perspective on sex, attraction, and relationships, Stirling retired from the adult industry in 2020. He now uses those experiences to help men and women build confidence, improve intimacy, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
We discuss the impact of pornography on relationships and intimacy, why so many men are feeling angry and disconnected, the mistakes men make when trying to attract women, and the behaviors that may be pushing potential partners away. We also explore what women can do to become more attractive to the right men, why genuine connection has become so difficult, and whether meeting people in real life is still possible in today's dating world.
Whether you agree with Stirling or not, this conversation will challenge your assumptions and get you thinking about modern relationships from a different perspective.

Single Women Say They’re Happy. Are They Really?
Jul 15, 2026

We hear the same message over an over again: more women are choosing to stay single, and many say they're happier than ever.
One of our listeners wrote in to tell us we were completely wrong. She believes we're unfairly suggesting that single women can't be happy, and she wanted to set the record straight.
So, is being single really the key to happiness for some women? Are the headlines and social media conversations telling the whole story? Or is there a difference between being content on your own and genuinely wanting to stay single long term?
In this episode, Mel and Suzie read her message and dive into one of the biggest debates in modern dating. They discuss why more women are choosing single life, whether happiness and relationships are being framed as opposites, how expectations around marriage and independence have changed, and why this conversation sparks such strong reactions from both men and women.
Can someone be genuinely happy without a relationship? Is there pressure to claim you're happier single than you really are? And why has this become such a controversial topic?

For generations, the rule seemed simple: the man pays on the first date. But in a world of equality, changing gender roles, and rising dating costs, does that rule still apply?
Should men still pick up the check? Do women expect it, appreciate it, or see it as outdated? And when a woman reaches for her purse and offers to split the bill, does she actually mean it, or is she secretly hoping he'll insist on paying?
In this episode, Mel and Suzie tackle one of modern dating's most debated questions. They discuss what men and women really think about paying on the first date, whether the person who asks should pay, and how money, effort, and expectations shape attraction from the very beginning.
They also explore whether refusing a woman's offer to split the bill is chivalrous or patronizing, whether going Dutch kills romance, and why this seemingly simple moment can reveal so much about values, intentions, and compatibility.
So what's the right answer?
Pay, split, alternate, or run for the exit when the bill arrives?
Join the debate.

For years, we've been told that women are the ones dreaming about weddings, commitment, and happily ever after, while men are the ones avoiding marriage. But what if that story isn't true anymore?Recent research shows that 66% of men aged 18 to 29 say marriage is at least somewhat essential to their version of the American Dream. So what changed? Are young men becoming more interested in commitment while women are becoming more hesitant about marriage? In this episode, Mel and Suzie explore one of the biggest shifts in modern dating and relationships. Why are some men prioritizing marriage more than ever? Why are many women delaying or opting out of marriage altogether? Have career ambitions, financial pressures, dating apps, and changing gender roles completely changed the equation? They discuss whether marriage still matters, what commitment means to men and women today, and whether modern dating is pushing the sexes further apart or bringing them closer together. Are men becoming the new romantics, or is there something bigger happening beneath the surface?Want more honest dating advice from women who actually tell you the truth?Check out our free guide: Female Brain Decoded Want more unfiltered conversations?Join us on Patreon for bonus episodes, deeper dives, and behind-the-scenes conversations, you won’t hear anywhere else.Meet our partner guybrator.com premium products for confidence, comfort, and discretion.Got a story to share with us?Leave us a voicemail by clicking here.Email us: stories@sharingmytruth.com or DM us on InstagramFollow us on Instagram @sharingmytruthpod, TikTok @sharingmytruthpodFacebook @sharingmytruthpod , YouTube @sharingmytruthpodSign up to our weekly newsletter and join the Sharing My Truth Community sharingmytruth.com

A 36-year-old listener writes in with a question that many single men are asking right now:
If dating apps aren't working, where do you actually meet women in real life?
Like many people navigating modern dating, he's tired of swiping and wondering if there is a better way to meet someone. Should men be approaching women at grocery stores? Are bookstores, farmers' markets, hiking trails, and coffee shops still good places to start a conversation? Is going out alone a smart move, or has dating changed too much for that to work anymore?
In this episode, Mel and Suzie share their honest perspectives on where men can realistically meet women today. They discuss why so many people have become dependent on dating apps, what women actually think about being approached in public, and whether old-school dating skills have become a lost art.
They also explore why meeting people organically can feel harder than ever, how confidence impacts attraction, and what men can do if they're serious about finding a relationship outside the apps.

A listener writes in with a dilemma that is guaranteed to divide opinions.
After watching our "Does Size Matter?" video on YouTube, she sent in a story about her roommate, who recently ended a relationship because the sex wasn't giving her what she wanted. Now she's feeling guilty and wondering if she was too focused on one physical detail, or if sexual compatibility is a valid reason to walk away from an otherwise promising relationship.
So where's the line between having preferences and being shallow? How important is sexual compatibility in a long-term relationship? And if something feels missing in the bedroom, is it fair to end things over it?
Mel and Suzie dive into a conversation that many people avoid having out loud. They discuss attraction, intimacy, relationship dealbreakers, and whether women are really any different from men when it comes to physical preferences.
It's honest, controversial, and guaranteed to spark debate.
Was she being shallow, or was she simply being honest about what she needs?

A listener shares the story of a relationship defined by two painful realities: alcohol abuse and infidelity.
For years, his partner's drinking led to chaos, broken trust, and repeated cheating. Friends and family told him to leave. He didn't. Time after time, he chose to stay, hoping things would change.
Eventually, they did.
Today, she is sober, their relationship is healthier, and life is far more stable than it once was. But while the drinking may be in the past, the memories aren't. The cheating, the lies, and the years of uncertainty still linger beneath the surface.
In this episode, Mel and Suzie discuss the complicated intersection of addiction and accountability. Does alcohol explain bad behaviour? How many chances should someone get? And when a partner finally changes, can the damage from the past ever truly be left behind?
It's an honest conversation about love, loyalty, forgiveness, and one question many people struggle to answer:
When is enough enough?
