The Truth About Vulva V Vagina: An Interview With Dr Melanie Altas

Join us this week for an episode that has taught us so much! This week we interview Dr. Melanie Altas from the BC Centre for Vulvar Health. We talk about the misuse of terminology with regard to referring to female anatomy. Why we do that and the affect it has on health and pleasure? Most people of all genders use the term vagina which is the inside when they are talking about the outside which is the vulva.
Why do we all say Vagina when we mean Vulva? What is the Truth About Vagina V Vulva? What is what? We need more education for women and men. If women are not using the correct terminology to describe their own bodies, then men certainly won't know what words to use. How does this misuse of terminology affect pleasure and how women see their bodies? We also talk about health and what women should be conscious of.
Education is key so conversations are not shrouded in shame. We also love the use of the word advocate! Advocate for your health and pleasure. There is no need to be awkward. The more we talk the less awkward it becomes. We discuss with Dr. Altas how to start those conversations.
This conversation was educational and informative and showed us that we still have a long way to go! We know you will enjoy and learn a lot whether you have a vulva and a vagina or not!

The Truth About Porn VS Erotica

Do women watch more porn or listen to more audio erotica? This is what we are talking about in this week's episode. Is there less shame attached to listening rather than watching? Is it because it's easier to hide, because porn is still predominantly made for men? If you listen you cannot be found out because noone knows what you are listening to?
We discuss all of these questions and what the truth is about porn vs erotica. Much has changed, and people are far more open minded, but society still has many hang ups about adult entertainment. There is still very much a perception that women don't watch porn and it is made for men. 
The audio erotica industry is exploding and we talk about why that is. It's very popular amongst young women. Is it hotter to listen to porn rather than watching it? Do women feel that audio erotica is made more with them in mind and what they desire? Or did the ASMR craze fuel the popularity of this type of audio?

The Truth About Affairs

This week we are talking about affairs. Why do they happen?  Where do they happen? Are there reasons? What does the word "affair" mean to you? Is it more loaded than the word "fling"? There are so many questions to get to The Truth About Affairs. Mel and Suzie's opinions differ. Suzie thinks people make mistakes. Mel doesn't disagree, but an affair where you have an emotional connection with someone other than your partner is such a huge betrayal that is hard to come back from.
We also talk about the fact that we often assume the person having the affair is a man? That is unfair, many women have affairs. We talk about the famous affairs, Charles and Diana, Brad and Angelina. What do we think about them? A relationship that starts with an affair is not always doomed. The Truth About Kinks

The Truth With Dr. Luz Maria: Sex And Intimacy And The Healing Process

In this week's episode we interview Dr. Luz Maria who is based in San Diego, California. She has a Masters in Psychology and a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology. She is a also a sex and intimacy coach and runs a "Discover The Goddess Retreat." 
Sex is complicated for many of us. For something that should be easy and natural, it can fraught with all sorts of issues and expectations. We talked about a lot of issues with Dr. Luz around sex and intimacy and the healing process needed if it has gone adrift in a relationship or you need to reconnect to it. How do you redefine sex and intimacy?
Dr. Luz works with couples and individuals, but we talked a lot about women connecting to their sense of sexual self. Sex should be fun, but if you lose the intimacy, it can hard to find your way back to the original connection.

The Truth About Sex Education on Social

In this episode we talk about the truth about sex education on social and how accounts are getting banned for providing sex education.  The social algorithms do not seem to be able to decipher between education and otherwise.
We discuss, how it is that in a world where information flows freely across the digital realm, it's puzzling to witness the tangled web of censorship that surrounds sex education on social media. We talk about how there seems to be a confusion between sex education and porn! As we know they are not the same!
The fact that we can't spell the word sex and instead have to use "seggs" or "s3x" on many social media platforms that are meant to be for adults, seems a strange! What will this do to sex education? Also, the fact that it is the words that often cause the problem. These are words that are in the dictionary. Why can we not say them?
